2016 OCN Summer Games Events 1, 2, 3, and 4 Released!

This year the Summer Games will consist of 4 events. Each athlete will sit out of 1 event. We will be releasing all of the events this week so you can begin to strategize and figure out where you will be putting your athletes. Events 1 and 2 will each be using 3 athletes per team. Event 3 will use 4 and the final event will be a whole team event with a section a and a section b. At the completion of 4a, the top 3 teams will immediately move on to 4b. If you have not gotten your team name to Katie yet, please do so this week.

Summary
3 athletes from each team will complete this event. A 0.75, 1, and 1.5 pd KB will be assigned to each team. They will complete the Partner Wallballs inside the gym over 3 ropes set at the 3 different heights. After the first set of 90 total Partner Wallballs they will each take their kettlebell out to the cul-de- sac to complete the first round of 90 KBS (30 at each weight, in order), broken up anyway among the teammates. Resting bells must be held in the air for all reps (3 simultaneous burpee penalty). They will then run back to the gym to complete the set of 60 Partner Wallballs, run back out to complete the 60 KBS, back in for the 30 Partner Wallballs, back out for the 30 KBS, and then they will bring their kettlebells back to the gym where their time will be recorded once all athletes are back.

Summary
3 athletes from each team will complete this event. There is a 25 minute timecap on this event. All 3 teammates will complete the burpees in order during every round so that they are broken up evenly. Each of the 3 benchmark workouts can be broken up among the team in anyway.

4: 10 Points, Weight (Total weight lifted by team, females 1.5x multiplier)

Summary
This is a 4 athlete event. The box jumps and deadlifts can be broken up anyway between the team, the burpees must be completed in sets of 4 and the rep is finished when the athlete is fully upright after completion of over bar jump. The team will work as far as they can through the reps during each of the first three sections of the workout. At the 24 minute mark the lifting portion of the workout begins. Each athlete will find their max in a 3 rep bench press, then a 2 rep back squat, and finally a 1 rep deadlift during 6 minute periods. During this time all reps must be completed on precisely 20 second intervals. For example, reps initiated on 24:20, 24:40. 25:00, 25:20, etc. would count. Attempts initiated at other times will not count, but can be used for warmups. All athletes, including the 5th teammate, can assist in changing weights.

Summary

All 5 athletes participate in this team event. There will be a section A and a section B. 4a is done in relay style fashion, with each athlete completing their run, 20 reps, and row before tagging the next athlete. After 4a is completed, the top 3 teams will move on to 4b. If you are in the bottom 3 teams that are not moving on, please help to clear the floor of event 4a bars and prepare new bars for 4b. In section 4b, the team is required to lift and hold a 225# bar for the entire duration of the event. As many athletes as necessary may hold the bar. A dropped bar results in a 5 simultaneous burpee penalty for all team athletes. All reps are broken up anyway, with the exception of the 500m relay row at the end of 4b.
